McMenamins Gearhart Hotel

We visited this McMenamins due to a last-minute birthday weekend cancellation (thanks a lot Washington) & couldn't have been happier! If you're looking for a quiet weekend get-away with a loved one, look no further. Nothing fancy about the rooms or restaurant, but we felt warm & welcomed the second we walked through the doors. The Sand Trap Pub just downstairs, it's a 5 minute walk from the beach, 10 minutes from Seaside, & 20 minutes from Cannon beach.

My husband and I went to dinner there on Christmas night. And I had one of the holiday dinners the salmon with dressing, green beans and cranberries with a roll and I have to say that was the best meal that I have ever had going out to dinner! I am 65 years old and I reside in Gearhart. I just want to let the chefs and the servers know what a blessing they are and what assets you are to that company!!! Gearheart feels like a trip away to the countryside of the UK with misty air, rolling dunes on the golf course, and a short jaunt to the beach. Leremy gave us the best service and conversation at the Pot Bunker Bar. We also enjoyed having our morning coffee right on the beach, which we had almost all to ourselves. The golf course looked great, though we did not have time to golf this stay. Corey also made us feel welcome ag the front desk. We also enjoyed the fireplaces adding to the coziness in the restaurants and bars, as well as the fire pits outside by the golf course. The room was modest, comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back.

Our 5th Valentine’s weekend staying at Gearhart! We stayed in the annex in the Public House room. What a treat! Great view of the course and so roomy. We will definitely request it for next year. We golfed here for the first time and could not have enjoyed it more. The gentleman working in the shop was so helpful and kind. Everyone that works at this McMenamins is top notch. We’ve stayed at many McMenamins and this one is by far the cleanest and most friendly. Well done! We will be back!

I celebrated my birthday weekend here, and my husband and I really had a great time. The room was perfect, overlooking the links golf course. Staff Corey at the front desk and manager Adrian were excellent hosts who helped make our stay very special. We ate two meals in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) served by waitstaff Bay and Lindsey. It's a perfect winter getaway situated in the charming town of Gearhart, with sweet gift shops and King Tide Bakery, which deserves awards for the owner's baking talent. Just minutes away is Seaside for kitsch souvenirs and some excellent seafood.

Love everything about this place. The rooms are comfortable and clean and they even have some pet friendly. The lighting is a bit dim, though. They have a coffee station in the hallway which we think is genius. You save so much on supplies and waste and not everyone wants coffee. The restaurant was open until 1qpm on Friday night and I got some steak and mushrooms which was amazing! They also have a great selection on mocktails. A short walk to the beach and you can drive out there. We drove out and all the way up to the Peter Iredale Shipwreck.

Very relaxing, walked to beach. Found sand dollars for the first time. And we were able to take our dog! Breakfast and dinner was very good. Very positive and can’t wait to go back!! Thank you Mcmenimans and give the person a big bonus for developing the Passport book. We really enjoy it. Get one if you don’t have one already. They are worth it!!!

Golf resort that is small and quInt. Fun things to explore on property. Golf course was open with green fees in off season at $85. Good food and drink. Seating around fires outside is a available as well as by inside fireplaces.
